Meet Kyle from La Canada, CA.
The one word that best describes Kyle's life today is "Dynamic." The reason Kyle chose this word is because there are a lot changes taking place in his life. If Kyle could change one thing in the world, he would "challenge people to follow their individual passions and help them break through the false beliefs that society projects on them." The way he would go about making this change is to empower people to blaze their own trails. One year from today, Kyle would like to be in his first year at USC (Annenberg School of Communication). Kyle is pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, specifically music. If Kyle's life were a movie it would be about his journey of tripping, falling, failing and yet finding his way as he has learned from his experiences. The title of Kyle's movie would be called "Failing Forward" and the subtitle would be called "How Failure Brought Success." I met Kyle, his mother and brother while sitting next to them at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. We were watching the taping of America's Got Talent. Kyle is an inspiring young man who is wise beyond his years. His transparency and authenticity made for great conversation. I continue to be inspired by the younger generation and their perspective on life. Kyle's answers to my questions flowed naturally and were so clear and concise. He shared with me that he's been answering similar questions as he's been applying to several colleges, so the timing for our encounter was serendipitous. I learned from Kyle that he gave a TED talk on the topics we were discussing. I hope to have a link to his TED talk soon. As great as it was seeing Nick Canon, Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B and all the acts pursuing their dreams, the highlight for me was meeting Kyle and hearing his story. Thanks Kyle for making my night!
