Day 165 of 365 "Addicted To Nature"

Meet Erin and Lauren from Laguna Beach, CA.

The one word that best describes Erin's life today is "Blissful."  The sun is shinning, the water is a warm 70 degrees and Erin is in her ocean playground, it's not a surprise that she would choose this word.

If Erin could change one thing in the world, she would "Increase environmental awareness."  The way she would go about making this change, is to encourage people to get out in the environment and take them on tours to educate and inform them.

One year from today, Erin would like to teach SUP and yoga retreats in the Maldives.

If Erin's life were a movie, it would be about a girl who was raised in the Sierra's and fell in love with the ocean and spent her life in the great outdoors.  The title of her movie would be called "Addicted to Nature."

I met Erin and Lauren as I was paddling and came across their path as they were on their super sized SUP.  I've never seen a SUP this size and I had to hear the story behind this watercraft and their part of the story.

The SUP is a Mistral and the rep was on the beach having a demo day for the new SUP store in town SUP To You.

Yoga on a SUP is a brilliant concept!  This past year, I've seen more yoga classes on the water than ever before.  There is something about the soothing water and ocean air that lends itself to fulfilling you mentally, physically and spiritually.  I call my SUP time "Soul Scrubbing."

I've yet to participate in a SUP yoga class, but I confess, there have been times I've paddled offshore and laid on my board and done a few push ups, sit ups and some stretches.

Erin and Lauren looked like they were having a blast, just look at their faces.  Erin is a yoga SUP instructor in Laguna Beach and loves being in the ocean.  We talked about the new regulations that are being imposed upon SUP owner/operators as a good thing for the SUP community. 

It's pretty amazing to be at the center of the fastest growing water sport in the world here in Laguna Beach.  Erin is a great ambassador for the SUP community and her positive attitude will bring unity to the community.
