Day 191 of 365 "Cosmic Encounters With Nature"

Meet Billy from La Vida Laguna in Laguna Beach, CA.

The one word that best describes Billy's life today is "Hectic."  The reason Billy's life is hectic today is because of all the variables that come along with running a seasonal business in a highly emotional community.

The experience Billy would like for his customers to have when they hire La Vida Laguna is, spectacular!  He would want them to experience the abundance of sea life and the big game adventure of seeing whales.  He would hope his customers have learned a new skill and were amazed by that experience.

The one thing Billy enjoys most about La Vida Laguna is being part of the joy he brings through the experience of exploring the wonders of the Laguna waters and how it helps people to become better stewards of the ocean.

One year from today, Billy would like for La Vida Laguna to have it's custom apparel line and be bought out by a company like Nike.

If La Vida Laguna were a movie it would be about the cosmic encounters with nature while people are experiencing the ocean wonders up front in living color.  The title of the movie would be called "La Vida Laguna Cosmic Encounters with Nature."

I had first heard of Billy after reading the most eloquent and descriptive column in the Coastline Pilot about the experience so many of us who SUP (Stand Up Paddle) have, but are unable to articulate the "Cosmic Encounters With Nature."

After reading Billy's column I wanted to learn more about him and found out that he is the host of Laguna Talks on local radio station KX93.5 where he interviews a wide variety of Laguna luminaries from the arts, business and sports worlds.

Today, I saw a LinkedIn request from Billy show up in my inbox and thought this was the day to go and meet Billy in person.  So I jumped on my beach cruiser and rode a couple blocks and rolled up to the La Vida Laguna headquarters on PCH, next to famous Brooks St.

Billy is just like I thought he would be, intense and articulate.  He is a bit of a rebel rouser and is a change agent who has strong opinions about issues in our small coastal community.  Billy is not sitting on his hands waiting for life to happen around him, he is making a contribution by pushing and pressing on issues that matter to him. 

I'm stoked to have met Billy and will most definitely get on board with some of the issues he is taking a stand for.  Thanks Billy for blazing new trails and making a difference for our community!
