Day 132 of 365 "Building Bridges"

Meet Daniel from Tennessee.

The one word that best describes Daniel's life today is "Simplicity."

If Daniel could change one thing in the world, he would "broaden peoples perspective about building community."  The way he would go about making this change is to build bridges in relationships by finding common interests and simply caring for one another.

One year from today, Daniel would like to be a role model to his kids and for the to have made the best decisions for themselves.

If Daniel's life were a movie, it would be about building bridges in relationships through common interests.  The storyline would be about living in authentic community and caring from one another.  The title of Daniel's movie would be called "Building Bridges."

Daniel and I met through a mutual friend and we've talked a few times on the telephone over the past couple months and today we had the opportunity to meet face to face for the first time.

Daniel is a Pastor at Highlands Fellowship Church in Virginia.  He is the director of Adult ministries, which means he oversees connecting people into community groups.  We spent the morning talking about a myriad of topics and the common thread in our conversation was relationships.

I admire and respect people like Daniel who commit their life work to connecting and caring for people.  After spending time with Daniel, I felt encouraged.  We found common ground in our lives which led to building a bridge of authentic and transparent conversation.

I'm learning to accept people for who they are and put aside my preconceived notions and seek to understand first before seeking to be understood.  Thanks Daniel for the life lessons today.
