Meet Alex from Buena Park, CA.
The one word that best describes Alex's life today is "Monk." The reason Alex chose this word is because he spends a lot of time as a musician with head phones on mixing sound tracks and producing music. At times it feels like he is living a monks life.
If Alex could change one thing in the world, he would "Get rid of mosquito's." The way Alex would go about making change, would be with one big sweep of his arm. Research has shown, we have what it takes put an end to mosquito's which would put an end to malaria.
One year from today, Alex would like to "Wrap a wave" on his skim board.
If Alex's life were a movie, it would be about his time traveling to the past and the future where he would be helping people. It would also be about him sneaking into gigs and being a back-up player. The title of his movie would be called "Working Man" and the subtitle would be called "Traveling Through Time." The soundtrack for Alex's movie would be played by the band Rush.
Alex plays bass and drums in two bands "Condors" and "Super Windmill." I've seen Alex skim boarding and he always has a smile on his face. He's learning how to skim and has a ton of patience and determination.
There is something different about Alex than most other skimmers. The younger skim boarders could learn a lot from him.
Alex drives 30 minutes twice a week to be able to skim board in Laguna Beach. He is passionate about learning to ride waves and when he falls, he get's back up (with a smile) and try's again. What a great metaphor for life, thanks for the lesson Professor Andy!
