Meet David Makela (Me) from Laguna Beach, CA.
The one word that best describes my life today is "Monumental." I chose this word because I'm sharing my dreams with the people I love most in my life. If I could change one thing in the world, I would "Help people to unleash their full potential and live the life they've always dreamed of." The way I will go about making this change is to invest in my community. One year from today, I would like for our company Vizual Living to be helping hundreds of people to passionately pursue their purpose, goals and dreams. If my life were a movie, it would be about a passionate person who has sold out to God, to his family, to others and to living life to the fullest! The title of my movie would be called "Sold Out" and the subtitle would be "Fully Alive." Since it's my birthday today, I was encouraged by a few people to feature my story as I celebrate 52 years of living life. I've been asked many times if I ever answer the same four question I've been asking everyone else, so today is my day to post my answers to these questions. Not only do I answer these questions personally but our company answer's similar questions on a weekly basis as we review what we are learning and create a movie poster based on the theme of the week. Today was an amazing day! I was given the best gift ever, being in the precious present experiencing carefree timelessness. Over the years, I've learned the importance of embracing every second and every moment of every day, yet I struggle to do this on a regular basis. My mind is very active and often times it's difficult to turn off my thoughts and ideas, except for today. Being in the precious present physically, emotionally and relationally was fulfilling! This allowed me the opportunity to put aside all my cares and concerns to experience carefree timelessness. In his book, The Rythm of Life, Matthew Kelly speaks about carefree timelessness. It's the basic concept of spending uninterrupted, quality time with the people in your life in which you want to build meaningful relationships. I have "Sold Out" to my faith, my family and my desire to love, serve and care for the people who are in my life and soon to be in my life. I believe life has many intersections where we cross paths with the right people at the right time and I wake up each morning with anticipation of whom I'll meet that day! Thank you to the 218 people who have slowed down at the intersections of life and have shared your story with me and our community. I look forward to many more serendipitous encounters and experiences with the amazing people who cross my path!
