Meet Chuck from Laguna Beach, CA.

The one word that best describes Chuck's life today is "Wonderful."  The reason Chuck chose this word is because he feels fortunate to have grown up with parents who taught him the value of hard work and family values.  Chuck believes our culture today does not seem to believe in discipline.  The kids are craving it, they need it, but it seems to have disappeared.

If Chuck could change one thing in the world, he would "Want family values to play more of an important role in how people live their lives."  The way Chuck would go about making this change would be to live his life guided by his convictions.

One year from today, Chuck would like to continue surfing life and living an active healthy life.

If Chuck's life were a movie, it would be about the mindset of surfing life and riding the waves with a smile on his face.  The title of Chuck's movie would be called "The Joy Of Surfing Life."

Chuck grew up Laguna Beach and is one of the friendliest guys you'll ever meet.  I like to think of Chuck as the "Ambassador" of Laguna Beach because he knows just about everyone and they all have nothing but nice things to say about him.

Chuck is a Laguna Beach High School graduate who went to college at Stanford.  He served as a Navy pilot and in 1961 while serving in Hong Kong, he met his bride Sarah on Thanksgiving Day.  They have been married for 44 years and she is his best friend and companion.

I love hearing Chuck's stories about his days growing up in Laguna Beach with some of the legends of surfing such as Hobie Alter and Tom Morey.  In 1999, Chuck became partners with Tom Morey and shapes custom surfboards for surfers around the world among other things.

At the age of 59 years old, Chuck gave his life to Jesus and has been giving his life away through various acts of service to military families in need.  Chuck has a strong belief that if more people would "Surf Life" they would be much happier.

You can find Chuck at Oak St. where he's engaging in conversation with his many friends in-between body surfing.
Anytime you want to be encouraged, stop by Oak St. and look for the young 79 year old man with a beaming smile and warm heart to fill you with a cup of joy.

Thanks Chuck for allowing us to share your story and your life with our community.  You are an inspiration and amazing role model for me and many others here in Laguna Beach.
