Meet Nick from Los Alamitos, CA.
The one word that best describes Nick's life today is "Growing." Nick chose this word because he is going to school and working on his music learning about himself and life. If Nick could change one thing in the world, he would "Want to bring clean water to people in Africa." The way he could go about making this change is to donate money and time to organizations like Water Wells For Africa. One year from today, Nick would like to own a sailboat. If Nick's life were a movie, it would be about learning and growing in school and the classroom of life. The title of his movie would be called "Growing." I met Nick through my son Joshua. Nick was on our boat today as we were sailing from Dana Point to Long Beach. Nick is a talented musician who plays piano and is influenced by jazz. I've heard some of Nick's music several years ago and was impressed, I can only imagine how much he has grown since then. I learned from Nick today that he loves to sail and can see himself owning a sailboat. Today was a good test of his passion for sailing as we faced serious wind and wave conditions. At the end of the day, he was exhausted by ready to come back another sail. I've heard stories about Nick when he was in high school and then living up in San Francisco pursuing his music career. Sometimes we form opinions about people based on what we hear instead of our personal interactions with them. The Nick that I got to know, is a man who has a desire to grow and learn from the lessons in life and from others. I admire people like Nick who have all the talent in the world and could let their talent get to their head, but Nick is a humble man who has positioned himself around people who are sharpening him and helping him to be the best he can be. Thanks Nick for being on this wild adventure today and for adding fun and laughs to our voyage!
