Day 255 of 365 "Overcoming Adversity"

Meet Steve from Monarch Bay, CA.

The one word that best describes Steve's life today is "Fulfilling."  The reason Steve chose this word is because is is doing what he loves to do.

If Steve could change one thing in the world, he would "Want there to be less religion in the world."  He's not sure how he could go about making this change.

One year from today, Steve would like to have remodeled his home.

If Steve's life were a movie, it would be about growing up in an uncomfortable childhood and making a decision to make a better life for himself and family.  The title of Steve's movie would be called "Overcoming Adversity."

I met Steve while taking him out on a SUP.  Steve is considering investing in a new hobby and SUP is on the top of his list.

We went for a long paddle up to Seal Rock at Crescent Bay and by the end of our two hour paddle, Steve was a natural.  I shared with Steve the many benefits of being out on the ocean on a SUP such as mind, body and soul.  I call my time on my SUP "Soul Scrubbing."

Time slows down when you are away from the busyness and distractions of PCH and the demands we put on ourselves and we allow others to put upon us.  I enjoyed my long paddle and intriguing conversation with Steve.

It's amazing what you can learn about a person when they let their guard down and share their life story with you.  We had a lot in common, one of which is our daughters are huge One Direction fans and went to their concert at the Rose Bowl.

Steve is a hard worker and a man committed to his family.  I'm hoping he will make the investment in himself and purchase a new SUP.  More than he knows, this investment in himself will pay huge dividends in his family and work.   Thanks Steve for the great conversation and for being part of Vizual Living 365.
