Meet Tom from Laguna Beach, CA.

The one word that best describes Tom's life today is "Bliss."

If Tom could change one thing in the world, he would "Change people's perception of the Creator of the Universe."  The way he would go about making this change is through relationships.

One year from today, Tom would like to raise the level of surfing on his SUP.

If Tom's life were a movie, it would be about a bird singing in his cage (metaphorically) through the highs and lows of life while keeping a fresh perspective.  The title of his movie would be called "I'm Singing In My chains Like The Sea."

I met Tom in the water awhile ago and have since gotten to know him and have started piecing his story together.  Our conversation took place on our boards while perfect waves rolled in and we let them go by.

Tom is a snow skier who has never surfed until he bought a SUP a few years ago.  It's been fun to watch Tom ride his many boards depending on the size of waves.  He is a student of stand up paddle surfing and it shows by how much he has improved.

I've taken a lot of photos of Tom this summer and can always count on him catching a lot of waves.  Today I was surfing alongside him as he was getting wave after wave and caught the wave of the day as I was paddling out.  There is something special about paddling out and being in the perfect position to see your bro dropping in on a perfect wave.

The more I've gotten to know Tom, the more I've grown to appreciate his quick wit, his intellect and his introspective mind.  We did the interview while we were out in the water waiting for waves and when he shared the title for his movie, I had to repeat it over and over again because I had never heard it before.

Tom shared with me that the title of his movie is a line taken from a poem written by Dylan Thomas whom I've never heard of until today.  After reading about Dylan Thomas and a few of his poems, my perception of Tom has broadened.

Thanks Tom for participating in our 365 day project on such a perfect day!
