Meet Stanley Ross living in Newport Dunes by way of Honduras.
Stanley's one word that best describes his life today is "Tranquil." If Stanley could change one thing in the world he would "remove all the parking meters in the coastal communities." The way he would go about making these changes is to protest at city council meetings and gather signatures on a petition. One year from today Stanley would like to have won the lottery. If Stanley's life were a movie it would be about his travels around the world and riding his Segway in and around the towns he's visited. Kimberly and I ran into Stanley today while on our lunchtime walk on the beach. We've been looking for Stanley since last summer when we met him for the first time. Stanley is our hero! Our original encounter with Stanley happened when I had lost my wedding ring while sitting on the beach just above where Stanley is standing. I had taken my wedding ring off my finger for a brief moment when it dropped into the sand at my feet. Kimberly and I spent a couple hours sifting through the sand looking for my ring using strainers, shovels, rakes and methodically turning over the sand. Unfortunately, we didn't find it. At just the right time, Stanley happened to be walking by with his metal detection gear and had a big smile on his face because he knew he would find it within 1 minute. He was impressed with our efforts and was confident that the ring would be found. Sure enough, within 30 seconds, the lights on his rig were blinking and he had struck "Platinum" and found my ring. You could tell that he knew what he was doing and was passionate about treasure hunting and helping people recover their rings and other artifacts. He could have held me hostage and charged me an exorbitant amount of money for the work his service. But no, he shook my hand, turned over my ring and said I could send him whatever the amount I felt his service was worth. Unfortunately I lost his contact info and could not send him anything. That was last summer. So, when we saw him today we made sure to thank him again and get his contact info. Stanley has many stories to tell about the treasures he has found. He showed us the golden tooth he had just found a few minutes earlier. Stanley was selected The Ring Finder of the year for 2013 and is a member of TheRingFinders.com which is a group of independent metal detectorists world with with approximately 400 members. If you are ever in need of finding a ring or any other artifact, Stanley is your man! You can learn more about Stanley Ross at www.theringfinders.com. His phone number is (760) 617-3151 and his email address is [email protected]. Thanks Stanley for making our day!
