Meet Kurt from Costa Mesa, CA.
The one word that best describes Kurt's life today is "Transition." The reason Kurt chose this word is because he is in a new phase of life. If Kurt could change one thing in the world, he would "Want increase the popularity of classical music." The way he would go about making this change is to remove the barriers and stereotypes about the symphony. One year from today, Kurt would like to re-frame classical music so that it inspires people to think about how it can be part of their lives. If Kurt's life were a movie, it would be about experiencing live music around the world. The title of his movie would be called "Around The World In 80 Concerts." We were introduced to Kurt at a friends Halloween party tonight. When we first met Kurt, he was the only man in a room full of women and was enjoying himself immensely. This photograph was taken by Kimberly prior to our conversation and it shows him in his ideal element. After Kurt answered our questions we took a few more pictures but we came back to this natural shot of Kurt being in the moment. Kurt works as the Director of Audience Engagement at the Pacific Symphony. We had a great conversation about the different genres of music and how the popularity of classical music is declining. Kurt has a love and passion for all types of music and instinctively knows what want likes and not likes. The future of classical music in Orange County is in Kurt's hands. He seems like he is up for the challenge and is the right person to engage the audience. Our classical music perspective has been broadened and we appreciate Kurt informing and educating us about the amazing style of music.
