Meet Kimothy aka "Smitty" who is originally from Missouri and is now living in two locations, Laguna Beach and on his boat in Shoreline Village Long Beach.
The one word that best describes Smitty's life today is "Fortunate." The reason Smitty chose this word is because he has God in his life and is in His hands.
If Smitty could change one thing in the world, he would "Change peoples perception of God." The way he would go about making this change is to help people to understand God's grace, mercy and love.
One year from today, Smitty would like to be stable in all his ways.
If Smitty's life were a movie, it would be about a a life of ups, downs, disasters and finding stability through it all. And how God used him to help others find stability. The title of Smitty's movie would be called "You Can Finish Well Too."
I met Smitty yesterday while interviewing artist Kirk and knew I wanted to hear more of his story, so we met on the boardwalk early this morning.
Smitty is a fascinating man with an exorbitant amount of joy and passion! Our conversation was heartfelt and at times heart wrenching. Smitty spoke with such authenticity and transparency. His life experiences have taken him many places which has helped shape his world view.
We shared stories of triumph and tragedy that were similar and hit close to home. Smitty understands himself very well and is crystal clear about what he is called to do, "Soul Winning."
As we were sitting on the boardwalk bench, people and their pets were walking by and Smitty would pause, smile, offer a kind word along with a big smile as his big blue eyes would light up. It was obvious that he has a deep love for people and animals.
After we said our good byes, I walked back home along the beach with a huge smile on my face as I reflected on our conversation and how fortunate I am to have met Smitty. Thank you Smitty for filling me up with joy and passion!
