Meet Phil from Denver, CO.
The one word that best describes Phil's life today is "Ideal." The reason Phil chose this word is because he is living the ideal dream accomplishing what he has set out to achieve.
If Phil could change one thing in the world, he would "Put an end to ignorance and get people to accept one another." The way he would go about making this change is through conversation and a dialogue that evokes learning and understanding.
One year from today, Phil would like for his heart to be healed. He lost his father and grandparents a few months ago and is grieving.
If Phil's life were a movie, it would be about exploration and moving up the mountain of live learning along the way. The title of Phil's movie would be called "A Question That Has No Answer."
I met Phil and Josh as this morning as they were standing on an empty beach taking in the beauty of the waves crashing on the shore.
Phil is on the front end of a two week business trip and today is the first day of training. He showed up at the corporate office early this morning ready to begin the training but nobody had shown up yet, so he and Josh jumped in their car and headed to Laguna for a few hours.
When I first saw Phil, I knew I wanted to meet him because he looked like a big kid playing in the waves having a blast! As I engaged in conversation, I became aware of Phil's contemplative nature. He comes across as a deep thinker and chooses his words carefully.
Phil has a black belt in martial arts. He and his wife train together and shared with me a necklace he received from his sensei after achieving his black belt. He wears it as a symbol of the beginning of wisdom to understand the power of his black belt.
In the few minutes I spent with Phil, I believe him to be a man of strong character with a wealth of wisdom. We shared a few moments of authentic dialog where transparency and vulnerability were on our sleeves. Such a cool feeling to engage at this level with someone you just meet.
Thanks Phil for paving the way for a great day!
