Meet Sandy from Orlando, FL.
The one word that best describes Sandy's life today is "Unbelievable." The reason Sandy chose this word is because she is thankful to be living a blessed life.
If Sandy could change one thing in the world, she would want "People to be less judgmental of each other." The way she would go about making this change is to push through the barriers and not accept the status quo.
One year from today, Sandy would like to be married for another year.
If Sandy's life were a movie, it would be about the highs and lows of her life growing up with her sisters who were raised by an amazing mother. The title of Sandy's movie would be called "God Is Good."
I met Sandy as she was enjoying a nice walk along the beach while her husband was at work. Sandy shared with me that her children have grown up and she and her husband are empty nesters enjoying life!
Sandy had a difficult childhood growing up without a father who was killed in front of her at an early age. She is a resilient woman who values hard work and an attitude of gratitude. We talked about the importance of raising children to appreciate how fortunate they are to have so much more than most children in the world.
I asked Sandy who instilled her values and helped shape her world view, "my mom is an amazing woman and I am thankful for everything she taught me" she said. "I give my mom all the credit for the woman I am today."
Sandy is excited about the next chapter of her life as she rediscovers herself and her husband. I shared with Sandy that I look forward to the day when my daughter heads off to college and my wife and I will be empty nesters in four more years.
Thanks Sandy for sharing a small slice of your story.
